Engineering Manager

Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:

1. Managing the design and documentation for site improvement projects. This will include maintaining project scope, budget and schedule; communication (verbal and written) with client and public works departments; coordinating project approvals with permitting and review agencies; scheduling, coordination and management of sub-consultants, design team and technical staff, including quality control of staff work products.

2. Personally preparing design calculations, reports, drawings and exhibits, specifications, estimates and communications with others.

BSCE is required, with ten plus years of increasing responsible experience. Must possess California P.E. license. Experience must include: preparation of plans for land development, improvement and grading plans, roadways, hydrologic, hydraulic, sewer, utilities and earthwork calculations. Knowledge of jurisdictional codes, standards and procedures in Sacramento and Placer Counties is required.

Excellent communication skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office programs are required. Must be proficient with AutoCAD/LDD.

Proven ability to make design and project related decisions while managing staff and multiple projects simultaneously. Ability to resolve disputes involving construction, and during the plan review process.

Compensation will be determined depending on experience.

Senior Project Engineer

Senior Land Planner

Qualified candidate must have 7 plus years experience in land use and site planning. Prior management experience a plus. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to resolve conflicts during the permitting and planning process. Ability to make decisions independently regarding planning issues and methods, provide coordination to client, staff, sub-consultants and agencies.

Acts as primary contact or support for engineers and land surveyors with governmental agencies. Coordinates acquisition of permits and other approvals from governmental agencies. Monitors proposed and current laws, ordinances and regulations that might affect company operations and relays information to principals and staff.

Determines staffing needs and maintains quality and accuracy standards. Assists in determining budgets and proposals. Hand graphic skills along with CAD literacy and proficiency a plus.

Prepares planning documents and maps, formal reports and submittal packages. Prepares and provides presentation to the public, commissions and governmental agencies.

As part of this position, candidate will take a very active role in developing new business for the firm.

CAD Supervisor

Qualified candidate must have five plus years in increasing responsibility within a CAD department, including direct management experience for civil design projects, as well as experience in the following areas: improvement plans, plan and profiles, tentative maps, utilities, roadways, plot plans, cut and fill balances, cross-sections, and retaining walls.

Must possess the ability to schedule and prioritize work for yourself and the CAD team and have the ability to work closely with the engineering staff. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are necessary as extensive interfacing with clients and staff will be required. Must have the ability to work independently and as an enthusiastic member of a team, while prioritizing departmental work.

Determines staffing needs and maintains quality and accuracy standards. Also assists in determining budgets and proposals. Proficiency with LDD, AutoCAD 2004 or higher and Microsoft Office programs a must. Hand graphic skills are a plus.

Administrative Assistant

Position requires proficiency with Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel as well as strong typing skills. Outstanding organizational skills needed. Candidate must be personable and have a professional attitude.
